The ‘U-AI Lab’ innovation area is on the ground floor of the
UACJ R&D Center. Although ‘U-AI’ is pronounced ‘YOU-EYE’, it is
actually a pun on AI, the chemical symbol for aluminum. All
kinds of aluminum-related products and technologies are on
display, ranging from various parts and materials to the principles
of forming, joining and surface treatment. It’s a treasure trove of
ideas, where items with unexpected functions and purposes can
also be found.
The open innovation-oriented automobile technology corner
provides a wide space for the display of items such as bonnet
hoods, bumper reinforcements, and front doors. At the center is a
prototype battery housing for power train electrification. //
UACJ’S NEXT-GENERATION ALUMINUM TECHNOLOGY
At the UACJ Research & Development Division, comprehensive developments on automobile materials,
including aluminum alloy materials, optimization of surface treatment and processing are being carried
out.
