RESEARCH HYBRID DRIVES

                           Determine of the Global Energy

                           Optimum of Hybrid Drives

In order to be able to compare different hybrid drives with regard to their efficiency,
the operation strategy must be able to determine the best possible fuel consumption
for each concept. Due to the complex correlations, especially with Dedicated Hybrid
Transmissions (DHT), the potential of each hybrid mode needs to be quantified in
order to identify promising optimisation approaches for the hybrid transmission. At the
Institute of Automotive Engineering of the TU Braunschweig a new operation strategy
method to determine the global energy optimum was developed, which is particularly
suitable for optimisations in combination with hybrid drive synthesis and investigations
                           of fundamental correlations.
