         is Researcher in the Field
of Automated Vehicles at State-of-the-art approaches for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are not
Volkswagen Group sufficient to design a system, that teaches its user new skills like driving on a racetrack.
           Research in Wolfsburg
(Germany). New methods developed in the Volkswagen Group Research project Race Trainer show,
what control design characteristics level-4 vehicles need, if they should be used for
driver education. The developed concept for ADAS acting as a mentor will be given
a short introduction in this paper. It solves the specific challenges that arise in
“shared-control” operation of a semi-automatic vehicle and introduces new general
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. ideas and algorithms for ADAS design.
